The session will be hosted by our head of legal services, Graeme Hills and will cover issues around costs of retirement, pension tax relief, state pension and more from the perspective of both tenant farmers and land owners.
Our guest speaker, Miranda Hickson, will be covering:
> Inheritance Tax planning from a financial advisers perspective, including a basic overview of some of the factors to consider and potential solutions that are available.
> Ways farmers can leave as much as possible to their loved ones and pay less to the treasury; what one might need during their lifetime, who they would like to benefit from their assets when they pass away and touching on some of the basics of some of the potential solutions.
Graeme is head of legal services at Duncan & Toplis and works as a director leading our private client team.
After earning a Masters degree in mathematics, Graeme joined Duncan & Toplis in 2004 where he began as a corporate and personal tax specialist. He went on to establish himself as an expert in corporation tax, capital allowances and VAT on land and property as a trusted adviser to clients.
Graeme has built his expertise in tax as well as probate, wills and trusts which led to his appointment as head of legal services when the service was launched in 2020.
