Preparation and Submission of the NHS Pension Year-End

| 24 April 2024 | 09:30-13:00

The preparation and submission of the NHS Pension Scheme end-of-year information has always presented challenges for employers due to the infrequency of the task at hand, and remains part of your “Employer Obligations”. All NHS Employers must ensure that they are fully compliant with their employer obligations and it is important to note that the outsourcing of the payroll and/or the pension function does not discharge your legal obligations.

It is important to note that the submission of year-end data directly influences the accrual of a range of Scheme benefits including retirement benefits.

Join us on Wednesday 24 April for a free, online workshop delivered by NHS Pensions Consultant, Ian McNicholl. This workshop covers essential topics of significant retained influence and outcomes and will ensure that you are fully compliant with your legal employer obligations including:

  • Employer responsibilities/obligations
  • Identifying payroll transactions influenced by NHS Pension Scheme Regulations
  • Integrity of payroll data
  • Defining pensionable pay
  • Defining deemed pay
  • Joining and re-joining the Scheme
  • Change(s) of circumstance
  • Part-time Scheme membership
  • Sickness absence
  • Maternity leave absence
  • October 2022 changes: impact and consequences
  • Preparation and submission of the Pension Year-End information

The event will be chaired by Duncan & Toplis Director of Payroll, Damon Tunnicliffe.
