Skegness Day Centre offers day care for all ages and helps to tackle isolation, loneliness and poor mental health. It provides companionship and support, ensuring that individuals are treated with understanding and patience.
With a keen awareness of evolving needs, the centre’s team of highly trained staff take great pride in facilitating moments of joy and connection for all.
Funds from The Duncan & Toplis Foundation will be used by the charity to launch a Memory Café, which opened on 11 October 2024 and will run fortnightly. Funds will help to pay for live music, craft equipment and other materials to assist those with memory issues.
Mandy Hayes, Manager at Skegness Day Centre, said:
“We’re most grateful to The Duncan & Toplis Foundation for their support in approving this grant for the launch of the Memory Café. It will be such an important service for our clients, helping to provide an outlet for individuals suffering from memory loss and their carers.”
Rachel Barrett, Duncan & Toplis director and trustee of The Duncan & Toplis Foundation, added:
“We’re delighted to be able to support Skegness Day Centre as it launches a vital new service for its clients. We’re passionate about making a positive and lasting difference to the lives of local people and we hope the Memory Café launch is a great success.”
The Day Centre is located on the grounds of Skegness Hospital and is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 09:00 until 15:00.
