Matt Smith is an Assurance Director at Duncan & Toplis, overseeing the Leicester assurance team and acting as a Responsible Individual on audits.
He manages a varied client portfolio, supporting businesses from start-ups to large audit groups.
Matt is particularly interested in helping growing businesses establish the right structures and understand their responsibilities from the outset. He also works closely with solicitors on compliance matters, including Solicitors Accounts Rules reporting, and collaborates with finance directors to make audit processes as smooth and efficient as possible.
His experience spans sectors from architecture and asbestos services to warehousing and website design, giving him a broad, adaptable perspective. Recognised for his technical ability, Matt was an ACCA prize winner in 2021 after achieving the highest global mark in one of his exams.
