The Duncan & Toplis Foundation supports charities and community organisations that make a meaningful difference within the communities it serves. Among the latest recipients is Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire, which supports vulnerable adults and older people through a range of community-based services.
A £1,000 donation from the Foundation will contribute towards team member costs, helping Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire maintain the capacity needed to provide safe, consistent support for people attending its day care and wellbeing services.
Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire currently supports up to 200 people each week through 12 services designed to reduce loneliness, improve wellbeing and help people remain connected to their communities.
The charity’s services include day care, wellbeing activities, practical assistance and social opportunities, helping people to stay connected and live healthier, happier and more independent lives. Its team is supported by 116 volunteers, whose contribution helps Bright Hope reach more people across North West Leicestershire.
The Foundation’s funding will contribute to the costs of qualified staff who coordinate activities and provide individual support, as well as maintaining safeguarding and health and safety procedures and managing risk assessments.
By investing in staff capacity, the donation will help Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire maintain the quality and consistency of its existing services while responding to growing demand. It will also enable the charity to continue providing companionship, activities and practical support to people who may otherwise experience loneliness and social isolation.
Lizzie Buswell, Fundraising Executive at Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire, said: “Thank you to Duncan & Toplis for this generous donation. Their support will help fund the staff who make our services possible, enabling us to continue supporting up to 200 people each week.
“With 170 people currently waiting to access our services, this contribution will make a real difference in helping vulnerable adults and older people stay connected, supported and valued.”
