The Duncan & Toplis Foundation supports charities and community organisations that provide vital services to people across the communities it serves. Among the latest recipients is Children’s Bereavement Centre, a charity dedicated to supporting children and families coping with the loss of a loved one.
The grant from the Foundation is contributing towards the charity’s core running costs, helping to ensure that bereaved children and their families can continue to access free, specialist support when they need it most. The funding will help cover essential costs including venue hire, specialist children’s grief counsellors and the resources needed to deliver services across Nottinghamshire and South Lincolnshire.
The Children’s Bereavement Centre exists to relieve the suffering experienced by bereaved families and to improve wellbeing and mental health through early intervention and specialist support. The charity works with children who have experienced the life-changing loss of someone important to them, often through sudden illness, accidents, suicide or other traumatic circumstances.
By providing tailored, trauma-informed care, the organisation helps children understand and process their grief while building resilience and developing healthy coping strategies. Its preventative approach aims to reduce the risk of long-term mental health difficulties, strengthen family relationships and ensure that no child has to navigate their grief alone.

Support like this makes a real difference to the children and families we work with, helping us provide free, specialist bereavement counselling and support to those facing one of the most difficult times in their lives.
“As demand for our services continues to grow, contributions from local businesses are vital in ensuring that no bereaved child has to face their grief alone. Every donation means less wait time for children at their most vulnerable.
