Duncan & Toplis team members recognised at Buckingham Palace for supporting young entrepreneurs

| Duncan & Toplis | 18 May 2026

Sarah Clyde and Daniel Sharpe, Business Services Directors at Duncan & Toplis, were invited to Buckingham Palace this week to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The King's Trust, recognising their long-standing commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs across the UK.

The pair attended a royal garden party hosted to mark the charity’s milestone anniversary, alongside supporters, mentors and ambassadors from across the country.

Outside of their roles at Duncan & Toplis, Sarah and Daniel volunteer as business mentors for The King's Trust, supporting young people who have received grants or loans to start their own businesses. As mentors, they help individuals navigate the early stages of building a business, offering practical advice and guidance during the first two years of their journey.

Sarah has supported the charity for more than 20 years, while Daniel has also spent several years mentoring young entrepreneurs through the programme.

Their work reflects Duncan & Toplis’ wider commitment to supporting communities and helping businesses grow, whether that’s through client work or giving time and expertise to people starting out in business.

Daniel Sharpe said: "It was a real privilege to attend the event and represent Duncan & Toplis. Supporting young entrepreneurs through The King's Trust is incredibly rewarding, particularly when you see the confidence people build as their businesses begin to grow. It felt very special to celebrate the charity’s 50th anniversary and recognise the impact it continues to have."

Sarah Clyde added: "Mentoring has been a hugely rewarding part of my career. Supporting people in the early stages of building a business can make a real difference, and it’s something I’ve always been proud to be involved in."

Duncan & Toplis continues to encourage colleagues to support the communities it serves, using their skills and experience to help individuals and businesses build stronger futures.
