Investing in young minds: Louth Academy boosts children’s reading with new grant

| The Duncan & Toplis Foundation | 12 June 2026

Louth Academy is among the latest recipients of support from The Duncan & Toplis Foundation, receiving funding to enhance its library provision and support student literacy across its two sites.

As a split-site school, Louth Academy operates two libraries, playing a central role in encouraging reading and supporting academic development. The Foundation grant will be used to purchase new books, ensuring students have access to the newest and most engaging fiction available. By continually refreshing its collections, the Academy aims to inspire a lifelong love of reading and improve educational outcomes for all learners.

With a clear commitment to literacy, the school seeks all opportunities to expand its libraries and provide students with a diverse and relevant selection of books. This investment recognises that reading is fundamental to wider achievement and personal growth.

Through this support, the Foundation continues to make a meaningful impact in local communities, helping schools like Louth Academy build stronger futures through education, inclusion and opportunity.

Sophie Gibbs, Literacy Lead said: “At Louth Academy, we put reading at the heart of everything we do. We know that the more a student reads, the more successful they will become. We are so grateful to The Duncan & Toplis Foundation for their generous donation to our libraries, helping us to foster success in the next generation.”
