Raising Health has been awarded a grant from The Duncan & Toplis Foundation, helping to strengthen vital mental health support services across Leicestershire.
As a registered charity of Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, Raising Health works to enhance the experience, care and wellbeing of patients, service users and staff by funding projects that go beyond core NHS provision.
The donation will be used to support music therapy sessions at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit, a programme designed to bring comfort and connection to patients experiencing severe mental health challenges. By funding specialist equipment and professional musicians, the grant will help deliver meaningful therapeutic experiences that can promote calm, reduce anxiety and improve overall wellbeing.
Raising Health focuses on initiatives that make a tangible difference during some of the most difficult moments in people’s lives. The Sounds Inclusive project uses music as a powerful tool to support emotional expression and recovery within mental health wards. The project benefits not only patients but also staff and families, helping to create a more positive and supportive environment.
This funding will play an important role in ensuring these sessions can continue, expanding access to therapeutic support and enhancing patient care.
Adele Stacey, Trusts and Foundations Lead, commented: “We will use the donation to support the amazing music therapy sessions at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit in Leicestershire.
“Thank you so much to The Duncan & Toplis Foundation. You are helping us to make such a difference to the patients we support.”
