Duncan & Toplis

Maintenance Operator

| Full-time | East Midlands

We're looking for a Maintenance Operator to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance tasks across our entire property portfolio.

What does this role involve?

As a Maintenance Operator, you will ensure all sites are maintained to a high standard, focusing on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. The role involves travel between multiple locations across the country, including the East Midlands and London.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites, including basic plumbing, electrical, joinery, painting and decorating, and general repairs, in a timely manner.

You will regularly update the internal job reporting system with task status and progress, complete job requests raised through the reporting system, and accurately log the work carried out.

You will conduct routine maintenance inspections to identify and address issues proactively, responding to emergency maintenance requests quickly and effectively, whilst ensuring all work is compliant with health and safety regulations and internal standards.

Teamwork

You will collaborate with site teams and external contractors on large-scale repairs and refurbishment projects, maintaining clear records of maintenance work, inspections, and materials used, as well as monitoring and maintaining tools and equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.

Skills and experience

We encourage candidates of all backgrounds and capabilities to apply, although it’s essential that your values and experience align with this role’s key responsibilities. To be successful you will:

  • have excellent communication, organisation, and practical skills, and demonstrate the capability to work independently and collaboratively
  • be competent in basic plumbing, carpentry, tiling, painting, and minor electrical repairs
  • have excellent time management
  • be experienced working in a maintenance or facilities role
