Beaumond House Hospice Care provides free supportive palliative care to patients and their families living in Newark and Sherwood in Nottinghamshire.
Its primary work is to enable patients to live well, with activities, treatments and support to bring relief from pain, anxiety and stress. It also aims to help patients to die well and with full control - choosing whether to remain at home or within the surroundings of the hospice.
The charity offers support to anyone over 18 years old with a terminal or life-limiting condition and their families, with services including In Patient Care, Hospice at Home, Bereavement Support, Day Therapy and Complimentary Therapy.
Funds from The Duncan & Toplis Foundation will enable Beaumond House to buy equipment that will extend its complimentary therapy treatments. This includes equipment for hot stone therapy, as well as cooling towels and a sterilising towel cabinet for cool towel pain management.
In addition, it will also help to purchase a back massager, foot exerciser, air purifier and oil diffuser for the day therapy room.
Elaine Smith, Trust and Foundations Fundraising Manager at Beaumond House, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to The Duncan & Toplis Foundation for their support - this equipment will make a significant difference to the lives of our patients and their carers. We are deeply appreciative of such an investment in the hospice which helps us to provide even better care. Thank you so very much.”
Theo Banos, Duncan & Toplis director and trustee of The Duncan & Toplis Foundation, added:
“Palliative care is one of the key focus areas for The Duncan & Toplis Foundation, as we understand the importance of additional funding for these services. We’re delighted to offer this donation to Beaumond House and make a positive difference to the lives of its patients and their families.”
