Audit Lead

| Full-time | Leicester

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Audit Lead to oversee and execute audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies.

What does this role involve?

You will lead an audit team, sometimes working independently, to ensure the successful completion of client audits, including all elements of planning, fieldwork, and completion.

Teamwork

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen controls, manage risks, and drive compliance, while mentoring audit team members to achieve goals.

Client experience

You will provide a high-quality client experience by maintaining engagement, managing expectations effectively, and providing clear, actionable audit outcomes.

Skills and experience

  • Deliver all elements of an audit to your manager or RI review, including all aspects of planning, fieldwork, and completion.
  • Lead audit teams to ensure that audit work is completed to necessary deadlines and standards.
  • Build and maintain technical knowledge in auditing, financial reporting, and taxation matters.
  • Develop working relationships with client team members to create a rapport, enabling you to assist in all aspects of your remit with openness, trust, and transparency.
  • Train assistant team members and review their work as necessary to improve performance and underpin excellence.
  • Draft sets of clients’ accounts, including group accounts, and corporation tax computations.
  • Identify areas of risk and opportunities for both current clients and potential clients.

What we are looking for

  • Part or exam qualified (unless already an experienced Audit Lead).
  • Teamwork and critical, collaborative thinking.
  • Accuracy of work and effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to develop professional and technical knowledge.
  • Ability to develop a broad range of IT skills.
  • Engagement with formal training, including on-the-job training.
