Yule not regret it: Support our present appeal and make someone’s Christmas

Duncan & Toplis | 26 October 2021

We are calling on members of our local community to support our annual drive of collecting Christmas presents for children aided by social care services across the county.

Each year, our team members donate new and unused gifts to vulnerable and disadvantaged children across Lincolnshire.

We’re making an impassioned appeal for further donations from both businesses and individuals throughout the community for our seventh year of supporting this initiative.

Gifted toys, presents and monetary donations can be contributed at any of our 11 offices across the East Midlands, including Lincoln, Skegness, Boston, Grantham, Loughborough, Louth, Melton Mowbray, Newark, Sleaford, Spalding and Stamford, before Friday, 26 November from members of the public, giving ample time to be delivered to the county’s hardworking social care teams.

Sarah Holford, Tax Director, who is heading up the appeal, said:

“The Christmas present donation drive is something that’s very close to my heart. Each festive season, the gifts that are contributed make an immense difference to the most vulnerable children across the county. Both the children and their parents are eternally grateful and it really takes the strain away from the most disadvantaged members of the community during what is unquestionably the most expensive time of the year.

“Each year, we collect around 100 presents which we give directly to the Lincolnshire Care Protection Service, who deliver them to children in need throughout our region. This year, we want to make a real change by collecting, even more, presents, so that more vulnerable children have a Christmas to remember - but we need the collective help of the community to make it happen.

“If you buy one extra present when you do your Christmas shopping and donate it to this worthy cause, you’ll make an unforgettable addition to vulnerable families throughout Lincolnshire. Whatever you can spare, however big or small, will help.”

For hygiene reasons, it is asked that presents must be new or unused and in their original packaging; items including toys, games, and clothing are at the top of the wish list. Please ensure that all gifts are appropriate for children aged 0-18.

Remember that presents can be donated until Friday, 26 November!
