The Duncan & Toplis Foundation are delighted to be supporting Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People with grant funding.
Based in Loughborough, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People provides care and support for babies, children, and young people in the East Midlands who have serious or terminal illnesses. From their 14-bedroomed specialist Hospice building, the charity supports around 350 families each year with a range of support tailored to each child and family’s needs, including end-of-life and palliative care, bereavement support, and family & sibling support.
Facilities at the Hospice include a hydrotherapy pool, soft play, cinema room, and multisensory room. It is often referred to as a home-from-home by the families that the charity supports, providing experiences that they may not otherwise have had.
Speaking of the difference that the donation will make, Melanie Bodaly, Partnerships Development Manager said:
“All children and young people deserve the chance to play, laugh, and love life. All families deserve to spend quality time together without worrying about what the future might hold and make as many memories as possible.
“Sadly, when children are diagnosed with a serious or terminal condition, all of this becomes so much harder. The families we support at Rainbows are going through the most challenging times imaginable, and we do everything we can to be here for them. We are so grateful for the support we have received from the Duncan & Toplis Foundation which will enable us to be a lifeline for these families.
“Not only does this support help us deliver what we are already providing for families, but we are in a big period of growth over the next couple of years to bring the Rainbows experience to wherever our families are.”
