It’s National Payroll Week 2024 this week and we have published our latest HR and Payroll Guide 2024-2025.
This useful free guide contains the latest statutory rates and tax thresholds as well as national insurance rates and thresholds and student loan threshold and deduction rates.
While there hasn’t been much by way of legislative changes for payroll in 2024, one change to be aware of is the national living wage, which now applies to those aged 21 and over - previously you had to be aged 23 to qualify. Across the whole of the UK, the personal allowance remains frozen at £12,570, as it was in 2023.
There is also a section dedicated to the latest employment law developments with a number of important updates in the pipeline. New legislation has expanded rights for employees around flexible working, paid and unpaid leave, and protection from redundancy during parental leave. There are also changes likely to come into force in October which will give workers the right to request more predictable terms and conditions of work.
In this year’s guide we also provide recruitment best practices for each stage of the recruitment process that will help you to make the right hires.
