Assistant Assurance Manager

| Full-time | Leicester

We are looking for an Assistant Assurance Manager to support the delivery of high-quality assurance and compliance processes across the organisation.

What does this role involve?

As part of the supervision team, you will be assisting managers and directors to provide assurance and commercial advice to clients, while supporting your teams in the delivery of their work to ensure operational objectives are met.

Team management

This role involves collaborating with colleagues and senior managers to ensure effective assurance processes. Supporting team members, sharing knowledge, and fostering a cooperative environment to achieve compliance, improve controls, and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Client experience

You will enhance client experience by ensuring accurate, timely, and professional service delivery, while maintaining clear communication and addressing client needs effectively.

  • Manage and develop team members by setting objectives and conducting performance reviews.
  • Manage a client portfolio, using your knowledge and skills to add essential value to the offering.
  • Responsibility for the overall quality of individual client assignments and production of a complete product with due regard to budget - this will require direct completion of audit planning, fieldwork, and collaboration with your team(s).
  • Work with other members of your service line to scope out client requirements and ensure that assignments are carried out in a timely manner and within specified budget(s).
  • Proactively liaise with relevant members of the management team (e.g., directors) on individual clients, ensuring that they are well informed and receive regular updates on progress, along with identifying and escalating any issues as necessary.
  • Build a network of potential new clients in order to identify new business opportunities (e.g. active participation within funnels or similar marketing initiatives), creating a vibrant pipeline of new opportunities.
  • Actively participate in pitching for new business opportunities and developing tender documents.

What we are looking for

  • Fully qualified (either by a relevant qualification or experience).
  • People management experience.
  • Business development skills.
  • Developing advisory skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Specialisation in a sector and developed key industry knowledge (optional, but not essential).
  • Proactive in the management of fee targets to ensure your manager meets their overall target.
  • Confidence in communication with clients.
  • Effective management of client lock-up - budgets/billing/debtors.
  • Time management of work in progress.
