Empowering educators for climate action

| | , | 7 October 2025 | 10:00-11:00

Catch up on this webinar, hosted by Head of Academies, Rachel Barrett, that introduced the Department for Education's (DfE) strategy, climate action plan requirements, and the support available for settings to develop and deliver them.

Rachel was joined by Sustainability Champion and Director, Sally-Anne Hurn, and guest presenter Matilda Crane from the Climate Ambassadors Scheme, who provided guidance on the climate change strategy responsibilities.

The DfE has declared that all education settings in England should have a climate action plan and sustainability lead in place by the end of 2025 - make sure you're prepared.

Rachel Barrett is a Business Services Director and Head of Academies at Duncan & Toplis.

Since joining in 2007, she has helped build a specialist education team that supports academies, multi-academy trusts and independent schools.

Rachel focuses on team leadership, service quality, and continuous improvement, ensuring timely, high-quality support for clients. She works closely with her team to develop talent and foster a collaborative culture.

Rachel also supports owner-managed businesses and brings first-hand experience of running a family company, having helped establish and grow a successful hair salon.

Alongside her role, Rachel is active in the education sector as a trustee and Chair of Finance at a standalone secondary academy trust and Vice Chair of the local governing body at a primary school. She also serves as a trustee of The Duncan & Toplis Foundation.
