On Thursday 20 April, head of healthcare and business services director Kay Botley, and associate director of payroll Damon Tunnicliffe delivered a financial update specifically for the healthcare sector.
Kay discussed the changes that practices will see in 2023/24 as a result of the NHS contract changes, and stressed that it was important that practices are aware of the impact these will have on funding and workload.
Kay also discussed how practices should ensure that they have set up a robust system early in a QOF year to ensure they meet targets in order to receive the funding that is due, and advice around how to do this. She also reviewed the five indicators of performance-based funding, access, AARS, and seven tips to maximise your practice income.
Damon delivered a payroll and pensions update, including the impact of the income tax banding thresholds being unchanged until 2027/28.
