Duncan & Toplis launch 2018 Christmas present appeal

Accountants and business advisers Duncan & Toplis are appealing for members of the community to support them in collecting Christmas presents for vulnerable and disadvantaged children in the community.

Each year, Duncan & Toplis team members donate new and unused toys and gifts for children who are supported by Lincolnshire County Councils social care teams. This includes children whose parents wouldn't otherwise be able to give them presents at Christmas.

After a series of successful present appeals within the Duncan & Toplis team, the company is now inviting members of the public to join them in helping more children than ever before to get a Christmas present.

Duncan & Toplis has 11 offices across the East Midlands and each office is accepting donated presents as part of the appeal. The company has offices in Lincoln, Skegness, Boston, Grantham, Loughborough, Louth, Melton Mowbray, Newark, Sleaford, Spalding and Stamford.

The appeal's organiser, Duncan & Toplis Tax Manager in Skegness, Sarah Holford said:

“As a team, throughout the year we support lots of worthwhile causes but this Christmas present appeal is the closest to my heart. These presents make a big difference for vulnerable children and their parents and they're always very gratefully received. We all know that Christmas is an expensive time of year, but this is a wonderful way to make a real difference in our community.

“Last year, the Duncan & Toplis team collected around 100 presents which were given directly to East Lindsey's FAST social care team who delivered them to some very vulnerable and disadvantaged children. This year, we want to collect even more presents so that more children have a Christmas to remember, but we need the help of the community to make it happen. If you could buy one extra present when you do your Christmas shopping and donate it to the appeal, you'll be doing something really wonderful and helping a child to smile again on Christmas Day.”

Janice Spencer, Assistant Director of Children's Services at Lincolnshire County Council said: "We are delighted to hear that Duncan & Toplis is supporting this worthwhile cause and are grateful for their support. We'd encourage anyone who has unwanted toys or gifts to consider donating them for the Christmas present appeal. It will be lovely for the children we support to be able to receive presents this Christmas, an integral part of the festive season for any young person. It's something we all take for granted and this appeal will make sure they don't miss out."

Presents must be new or unused and in their original packaging and items including toys, games, and clothing are top of the wish list. All presents must be appropriate for children aged 0-18.

Presents can be donated until Friday 8th December.
