April 2024 will see Adrian step down from his position as managing director, with Damon Brain succeeding him. To ensure a seamless changeover, Adrian will continue playing an active role within the company in the future.
This transition has already begun, with Damon spearheading the development of our new growth strategy, our biggest period of growth in 100 years, having worked alongside Adrian to secure additional investment that will accelerate our plans for the future.
Outgoing Managing Director, Adrian Reynolds says he’s excited and proud to be handing over the reins. He said:

“They say that significant events come in threes: We have our next strategic plan, secured significant investment, and the third is a change in managing director – you may not think it is significant, but I do.
“It has been agreed that Damon Brain will succeed me as managing director next April and Damon and I will work together over the next six months to ensure a smooth changeover.
“Damon, like me, knows that the success of the business is not due to one team or one individual, but it is the result of the whole team working together towards a common goal and plan.
“I want to thank everyone at Duncan & Toplis, our clients and our wider community for the support that you have given me over the last 12 years to deliver my vision for the business – to modernise it and to make it relevant for the current marketplace and for years to come.”
Damon Brain began his career at Duncan & Toplis 27 years ago, as a trainee before becoming a partner in 2004. Damon will be a familiar face to many Duncan & Toplis clients, having supported thousands of businesses and individuals across the East Midlands and beyond.
Speaking about his role as future chief executive officer, Damon said:
“Over almost a century, Duncan & Toplis has been a trusted partner to generations of people, businesses and communities. Adrian has modernised the company and set us on a sustainable course for growth. He’s taught me a great deal over the last 12 years and I’m proud to have the opportunity to lead our group forward into the future.
“Our new growth strategy will start the next 100 years of Duncan & Toplis as we mean to go on, accelerating our progress in a controlled manner, protecting everything that’s great about our group and what we do, while maintaining our focus on culture, on our people, and growth for the right reasons.”
Adrian joined Duncan & Toplis in 1986 and became Managing Partner in 2012. Under Adrian’s leadership, Duncan & Toplis became an incorporated company in 2014 when he took on the role of Managing Director. A former Boston Grammar School boy, he is also a board member of Kreston Global, the 12th largest accounting network in the world.
Duncan & Toplis is embarking upon its biggest period of growth since it was founded in 1925, with a focus on doing right by our people, our clients, and our communities.
