Greater Nottingham Education Trust (GNET) is a multi-academy trust which includes Carlton le Willows Academy and Netherfield Primary School in Nottinghamshire.
Created in 2016, the trust aims to build a formal union of primary and secondary schools which strive to help children grow into truly exceptional people.
Duncan & Toplis has worked with GNET and its schools since 2011, providing a wide range of services including internal scrutiny reports, external audits, teachers’ pension EOYC audits, preparation of financial statements and independent examiners report of school funds.
Our team has carried out financial due diligence of schools joining the trust and provides general advice on matters of taxation including VAT, business, income and corporation tax.
Michael Davies, Financial and Operations Director of Greater Nottingham Education Trust said:
“I have no hesitation in recommending Duncan and Toplis. The services the team has provided to us since 2011 have always been high quality and provided in a timely manner.
“Pricing is very reasonable with rates not increasing above inflation at any point over the past nine years and fees for any additional work are always agreed in advance. There have been no surprises when it comes to billing and we are not charged additional fees for general telephone advice throughout the year.
“Duncan & Toplis has a large staff base with experts in all key areas. We have a designated manager contact, alongside a designated director, Rachel Barrett, both of whom are very knowledgeable of the academy sector.
“Duncan & Toplis remain up to date with DfE/ESFA guidance and provide updates to clients where necessary. As part of the Kreston Group, they also provide an annual benchmarking report for the academy sector which is a fantastic tool to assist MAT leaders and trustees with annual financial reviews.
“Furthermore, Duncan & Toplis' reports to Trustees are very thorough and are provided in a user-friendly format and their accounts presentations at the trust’s AGM have always been very professional and informative.”
