Stuart Brown is a Director and Head of Technical and Compliance at Duncan & Toplis, responsible for audit quality, financial reporting standards, and compliance.
Since joining in 2018, he has led technical development across the business and driven continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma.
His role includes several key governance responsibilities, including Money Laundering Reporting Officer, Ethics Principal, Designated Professional Body Principal, and Chair of the Practice Assurance Group. He also leads the specialist financial reporting service, supports CPD and team training, and joined the Operations Board in 2021.
Stuart is also active in the wider profession. He is Chair of the ICAEW Ethics Advisory Committee, having previously served as Vice-Chair, and sits on the ICAEW Members and Commercial Board. Through these roles, he helps shape professional standards and guidance, particularly on complex or precedent-setting ethical issues.
